This Pyramid Shield Tooth is made from top quality New Zealand Greenstone/Pounamu and comes with a brown waxed fully adjustable cord, the front has a raised ridge down the middle, and the back is flat
Carved from Marsden Flower Pounamu this type of stone comes from an area outside Greymouth on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island.
It also comes in a type called ‘flower jade’ – this is generally the part of the stone closest to the outside that is showing the greatest degree of inclusion and oxidation. This results in gorgeous colors – golds, reddish browns and a wide array of greens.
The shark tooth design represents strength. This is because the mako shark is such a resilient, strong creature that has survived on earth for thousands of years. The thinking is that by wearing a 'tooth' of the shark, it will impart some of this resilience onto the wearer.
