This one of a kind Feather Carving has been crafted from the rind of NZ Marsden Stone which gives this carving it`s unique colors enabling the front carving details to be displayed to their best & the back of this Feather Carving is concaved(reversed carved)so it enables this carving to be worn two different ways and is bound with a black waxed adjustable cord.
Carved from Marsden Rind Pounamu this type of stone comes from an area outside Greymouth on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island.
It also comes in a type called ‘flower jade’ – this is generally the part of the stone closest to the outside that is showing the greatest degree of inclusion and oxidation. This results in gorgeous colors – golds, reddish browns and a wide array of greens.
